Here are some practical tips to make you your stay easier during your conference in Geneva :
- shopping,
- getting around the city and around the international organizations,
- leisure activities during your stay.
There are several supermarket chains available around the city, from the cheapest to the most expensive. Find the nearest branch:
The MetroShopping located at the Central train station (Gare Cornavin) is a hall with various shops that offer extended opening hours.
The Les Cygnes shopping centre near Cornavin train station has a Migros print-shop at low prices.
Banks, foreign exchange & post office :
With the Geneva Transport Card provided by your hotel, you may travel :
- by bus and tram (tpg),
- by boat to cross the lake (Geneva “Mouettes”),
- by train (CFF) between Cornavin train station and Geneva Airport.
The Cornavin train station is a hub for most bus/tram/train lines in the city, allowing you to reach:
- UN Geneva (bus line 8, 20, F: “Appia” stop) and most international organizations (“Nations” stop).
- Geneva Airport (bus line 5) or by train.
- Your hotel.
- CAGI office (line 5: “Intercontinental” stop).
