Qui Sommes-nous ?

About us

The International Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI) was founded in 1996 by the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Geneva, with the support of national and local entities, both public and private. Its mission is to facilitate the setting-in of international civil servants, members of permanent missions, consulates, NGOs, multinational companies as well as their families to the Geneva and Lemanic region.

It also organises and supports cultural and social events which promote exchanges between the Internationals and the local community.

The mission of the CAGI is threefold

  1. To welcome and offer practical assistance to newcomers to Geneva or to the Lemanic region. These newcomers may be working for an international, governmental or non-governmental organisation, for a diplomatic mission, a consulate or a multinational company, as a PhD student or a professor at the Hôpitaux Universitaire de Genève (HUG), or at the University (UNIGE).

  2. To facilitate the stay of delegates from NGOs and members of civil society participating in conferences at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and other international meetings organised in the Geneva and Lemanic region.

  3. To assist international non-governmental organisations (NGOs) already based in Geneva, as well as those interested in setting up an office in the region. The Service provides information, guidance and support.
