CAGI MISSION

The International Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI) was founded in 1996 by the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Geneva, with the support of national and local entities, both public and private. Its objective is to facilitate the installation and integration in the Geneva and Lemanic region of international civil servants, members of permanent missions, consulates, NGOs, Multinational Corporations as well as their families.

It also organises and supports cultural and social events which promote exchanges between the Internationals and the local community.

The mission of the INTERNATIONAL Geneva Welcome Centre is threefold

  1. To welcome and offer practical assistance to newcomers in Geneva and in the Lemanic region, who are working for an international, governmental or non-governemental organisation, for a diplomatic mission, a consulate general or a multinational corporation, for a PhD student or a professor at the Cantonal Hospital or at the University.
  2. To facilitate the stay of delegates from NGOs and members of the civil society participating in conferences at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and other international meetings organised within International Geneva.
  3. To assist international non-governmental organisations (NGO) already based in Geneva as well as those interested in establishing an office in the region. The service provides information, guidance and support.
