To celebrate the ties that bind the city of Lausanne to the Olympic Movement and the 30th anniversary of its official designation as ‘Olympic Capital’, a selection of previously unseen photographs of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been on display since 19 December in the beating heart of the city: its railway station. Designed by the Olympic Museum with the participation of Photo Elysée and the support of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), the Lausanne Olympic Capital Foundation and the City of Lausanne, this exhibition adorns the lively corridors of the railway centre as well as its main north and south entrances, welcoming commuters and travellers. This exhibition at Lausanne station will enable all the people of Lausanne and station users to immerse themselves in the Olympic spirit, and will serve as an introduction to the ‘Sport in Focus’ exhibition to be presented jointly by the Olympic Museum and Photo Elysée in spring 2025.

Get moving and have fun! The Let’s Move: Get Active Space! highlights the importance of movement through interactive challenges that transform everyday objects into tools for physical activity. Here at the Olympic Museum, the aim is simple: to show that moving is good for your everyday health and well-being, while also being easy and fun to incorporate into everyday life. Children aged 4 to 10 are invited to test their balance, flexibility, endurance and coordination through fun activities. These experiences help them understand how simple actions can contribute to a more active and fulfilling lifestyle. The space also suggests ways of incorporating more movement into everyday life, at home and elsewhere.
