Olympic Museum

An enthralling exhibition, moments of intensity

  • Would you like to relive great Olympic moments? Feel the pulse of the champions? Discover the creative flair of the host cities? The world of the Games with its many facets will open up to you.
  • The Museum has 3000 m2 of exhibition space, over 1500 exhibits, 150 screens and our passion, combining to create the ultimate experience. From The Olympic Park, with its sports installations and sculptures, to the TOM Café and its menus inspired by the cuisine of cities who have hosted the Games, you will have great stories to tell. Take your time, the view of the lake is already enough to take your breath away.
  • Until 17 August

For each edition of the Games, a pool of sports photographers is commissioned to cover the event and given a precise brief. Thousands of images are taken and kept in the IOC’s archives. Some photographers take a particularly creative approach, as demonstrated by this exhibition, which contains a selection of never-before-seen images from Paris. The Paris 2024 Organising Committee gave photographers free rein to showcase their artistic talent, leading to photos that are quite different from those normally supplied by press agencies. “Sport in Focus“ at the Olympic Museum displays some of these images, demonstrating how sports photography can be about more than capturing the sporting action; it can also produce images of real artistic merit. Part of the “Sport in Focus” exhibition can also be seen at Photo Elysée from March 28 to to August 17, 2025.

To celebrate the ties that bind the city of Lausanne to the Olympic Movement and the 30th anniversary of its official designation as ‘Olympic Capital’, a selection of previously unseen photographs of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been on display since 19 December in the beating heart of the city: its railway station. Designed by the Olympic Museum with the participation of Photo Elysée and the support of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), the Lausanne Olympic Capital Foundation and the City of Lausanne, this exhibition adorns the lively corridors of the railway centre as well as its main north and south entrances, welcoming commuters and travellers. This exhibition at Lausanne station will enable all the people of Lausanne and station users to immerse themselves in the Olympic spirit, and will serve as an introduction to the ‘Sport in Focus’ exhibition to be presented jointly by the Olympic Museum and Photo Elysée in spring 2025.

Get moving and have fun! The Let’s Move: Get Active Space! highlights the importance of movement through interactive challenges that transform everyday objects into tools for physical activity. Here at the Olympic Museum, the aim is simple: to show that moving is good for your everyday health and well-being, while also being easy and fun to incorporate into everyday life. Children aged 4 to 10 are invited to test their balance, flexibility, endurance and coordination through fun activities. These experiences help them understand how simple actions can contribute to a more active and fulfilling lifestyle. The space also suggests ways of incorporating more movement into everyday life, at home and elsewhere.
