Local food producers

Lake Geneva region supports local agriculture production and short distribution channels. Here is some practical information among others:

  • The Geneva Association for Organic Farming "Bio Genève" represents the organic producers of the Canton of Geneva.
  • Genève Terroir: Genève Région - Terre Avenir (GRTA) is a guarantee mark created in 2004 by the State of Geneva, which is the holder. GRTA identifies agricultural products from the Geneva region. It concerns all agricultural products, at each stage of their processing, from field to plate.
  • Bio Vaud is the official association of organic producers in the canton of Vaud. The canton has more than 196 organic producers, two thirds of which are affiliated with Bio Vaud.


In general, supermarkets and other stores open Monday to Saturday,
8:30 a.m. or 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Closed on Sunday.

Some shops (in train stations or airport),
or family grocery stores open 7 days a week, 8 am to 9 pm, or even later.
