The "Escalade" from Dec 11 to Dec 13

The Escalade celebrates a successful night-time defense of Geneva in 1602, commemorated by a historical torch-lit procession on Sunday evening. On Saturday and Sunday, you can see people in 17th century dress, as well as pipers and drummers walking around the Old Town.

Celebrated as "Geneva national day", the Escalade recalls a page in Geneva's history, and symbolizes the unity of its people around values of liberty and independence.
