Work permit

Anyone wishing to obtain a work permit must apply to the Service Étrangers et Confédérés (SEC).

If you want to settle in Switzerland, you must submit a residence request, which will be examined. You may not commence work before you have received authorisation. You may consult the different types of work and/or residence permits at the following link: types of work and/or residence permits.

The permit request must always be submitted by the employer to the Service Étrangers et Confédérés (SEC).
