1. Check the advertisements
If you are a collaborator of:

- a Permanent Mission
- a Consulate
- an NGO
- a Sport Federation

2. Visits
The process differs from one real estate agent to another. Some will send a person to visit the place with you. Some will ask you to arrange a visit with the caretaker or the actual tenant. Others will ask you to pick up the keys and will let you visit the place on your own.
3. Formalities

4. Moving house
The Association Genevoise des Entreprises de Déménagements (AGED : www.aged.ch) (Geneva Association of Removal Firms) regroups twelve removal companies. It has published a brochure entitled "Moving: How to do it" which offers a good deal of practical advice. 5. I am moving. Who to notify ?
Even if you are merely changing address within the cantons of Geneva or Vaud, you will have to notify the relevant administration, enterprises and services,etc....
