As part of the implementation of the strategic plan of Terre des hommes (Tdh), your position is a new in role in our Foundation. You collaborate in the development of a new division within the organization, responsible for the search of institutional funds. In particular, you ensure a better positioning of the organization with key US donors, by improving the detection and capture of funding opportunities, influence and anticipation of the evolution of financing strategies donors. You also develop levels of understanding and adequacy to the expectations of donors. In your position, under the supervision of the Head of the Institutional Fundraising Division, you oversee compliance issues for key donor awards and Tdh procedures. You serve as the compliance authority within Tdh. You work closely with Key Account managers (KAM) to ensure that Tdh is in line with donor guidelines and stipulations. You work to proactively address funding agencies, benefactors and the public of Tdh’s commitment to good stewardship and sound fiscal management.

Your main responsibilities

Donor Compliance

  • You act as an internal focal point for US and UK donors compliance and requirements
  • You ensure that all relevant staff are informed of donor requirements by providing regular internal trainings and technical support, by sharing the consolidated donor requirement and guidance to the HQ and field teams
  • You support the editing of the proposal to the donors and ensure their compliance with the donors templates and requirements
  • You inform Tdh team about any significant and relevant modification of donor rules.
  • Together with the KAM, you advocate internally to adapt Tdh’s policies and rules & regulation in order to comply with the donor’s requirements
  • You provide to Tdh team a quick and user friendly administrative check list for all proposals and reports (which documents and annexes should be provided)
  • You are a focal point for any issues related to web platforms of contract management (reports, payment)
  • You contribute to perform the donor compliance by following the audit's findings on the field and in HQ
  • You contribute to create an efficient internal method of sharing costs acceptable by donors and easy to implement by the field team
  • You maintain a donor report tracking system to ensure that responsible staff are aware of upcoming deadlines, including key donor and project milestones and deliverables

Strategy facilitator

  • In collaboration with the US KAM, you analyse and facilitate the donor strategy understanding by Tdh decision makers and desks, contributes to build an efficient Tdh strategy of funding

 Your Profil

  • Education: you have a master degree in or a bachelor
  • You have at least 7 years of significant experience working in an international context in a development or humanitarian organization and in matrixed global organization and specifically 3-4 years of experience in a similar position: previous work experience with US donors is a must.  You have a proven expertize of reporting and knowledge of compliance requirements of major US and UK donors
  • Significant knowledge of international humanitarian response and development work is a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships
  • Highly approachable and responsive in nature
  • Natural organizer with demonstrated expertise in developing processes and systems to track and analyse information
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). High level skills in written English and French and ability to draft reports effectively and to transform documents and reports developed by programme staff into dissemination standard documents
  • Advanced IT skills
  • Swiss Nationality or valid work permit
