In Switzerland, World Vision has been established as a foundation in 1982, primarily focused on the Swiss German market.

Effective January 2018, World Vision Switzerland opened up an office in Châtelaine, 7-9 Chemin de Balexert, Geneva, to develop a sponsorship base in the French speaking part of Switzerland (Suisse Romand). We therefore seek to engage a Director of Partnership Development to lead the programme of work that includes a focus on support for programmes on women’s empowerment.

Major responsibilities

  • Support and cooperate with the Coordinatrice Suisse Romande of World Vision Switzerland to build up a strong sponsorship base of individuals (locals and expatriates) in the Swiss Romande.
  • Build partnerships with and secure funding from large internationally operating enterprises and corporations that have headquarters along Lake Léman.
  • Profile the work of World Vision International for the purposes of fund raising.

Who we're looking for 

As the successful applicant, you will have a breadth of capabilities, including a strong customer service approach towards all stakeholders and experience in working in an agile and responsive manner. Demonstrated capacity in diversity and inclusion a must. In addition, you will have: 

  • Ten years progressive experience working for the United Nations or not-for-profit organisation
  • Track record of raising significant funds in support of global programmes in particular women’s empowerment
  • Understanding of the international aid and development context, and key international actors/donors
  • An understanding of the unique needs and requirements of government and multilateral donors within an international development context, and experience articulating, communicating and delivering
  • Demonstrated application of technical skills in a relevant context (program/project management, United Nations, foundation or other donor)
  • Process mapping, business planning and reporting and improvement
  • Contract and project management, project methodologies and theory
  • Financial data analysis, planning, reporting and management;
  • Demonstrated experience managing donor-funded programs
  • Management of small-medium professional teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: such as Economics/commerce, International Relations/International Development, or a relevant technical field
