Welcome programmes for newcomers

You are a diplomat or a civil servant working in an international organisation, a diplomatic mission or a consulate general, you have just arrived in Geneva, 

the Newcomer Welcome Network can help you and your family !

 

Run by a group of  'Fondation pour Genève' volunteer members, in collaboration with Geneva Tourism, the Newcomer Welcome Network offers various activities which will enable  you to  discover Geneva and its surroundings, and  give you an opportunity of making local friends.

Welcome line

A welcome telephone call to introduce the Geneva Welcome Centre, its services and programmes and to help you upon arrival.

Lunchtime conferences

Subjects on cultural and social life in Geneva, followed by an informal sandwich luncheon

Conversation Exchange Programme

Take advantage of the cultural diversity provided by the numerous nationalities to practice and improve your knowledge of another language in exchange of your own mothertongue.

Discover Geneva

A programme proposing visits of communes or specific neighbourhoods in Geneva, local institutions and giving the opportunity  of participating in local events.

After you have registered at the Swiss Mission to the United Nations Office , we will send you the Newcomer Network programme. If you are interested in receiving invitations for any of the activities, simply fill in and return the registration form. Registration/membership is free of your charge and valid for one year.
